Can you pinpoint the moment when you started doubting your potential?

Maybe it was as simple as missing out on a role in a school play, or perhaps something like a business venture that didn’t quite take off, leading someone (often yourself) to label your dreams as unrealistic.

Personally, it wasn’t one big moment – it was gradual. I’ve always been seen things from a different perspective, but slowly, I started holding myself back, prioritising practicality over passion, trying to pack myself neatly into boxes that weren’t mine.

I realised fear isn’t something we’re born with, it’s learned. Society teaches it, experiences reinforce it, and our thoughts deepen it. Fear quietly says, “Be realistic. Don’t aim too high. Just follow the beaten path” Without noticing, we find ourselves boxed in by the ‘limitations’ we’ve created for ourselves.

But the truth is, that fear isn’t really you, and it definitely doesn’t need to shape your the rest of your life.

How Fear and Comparison Keep Us Small

Fear makes us hesitate.

Comparison makes us shrink.

Together, they warp our idea of what’s possible. We scroll through social media, comparing our messy behind-the-scenes to everyone else’s highlight reels, feeling like we’re falling short.

I’ve been there, wondering if my journey is “enough” because it looks different from someone else’s.

But here’s what I’ve learned: your timeline is the only one that counts. Your story is powerful precisely because it’s yours.

Limits are often illusions, shaped by internalised beliefs. Imagine if we stopped comparing and started listening to our own instincts. What if we let curiosity guide us instead of fear?

Why Believing in Possibility Matters

The most powerful shifts (in any part of your life) don’t come just from strategy or planning. They start with belief. When you truly believe something is possible, your whole energy changes. You take on challenges differently. You try new things, embrace exploration, and take meaningful risks.

For creatives and entrepreneurs, this mindset is essential.

It unlocks doors strategy alone can’t open. It encourages innovation and genuine leaps of faith. You approach obstacles differently. You experiment, explore, and create from a place of openness. This belief paves the way for momentum.

That’s the path I’m choosing now, betting on and completely trusting own journey. After years supporting others’ in creating their visions, I’m finally building something that feels authentically mine. It’s messy, sometimes scary, but deeply rewarding. And this belief in what’s possible keeps pushing me forward.

You don’t need all the answers. You just need to believe that you can do anything. (Easier said than done, I know)
